Chartered Status is a professional accreditation that recognizes the knowledge, skills and behaviours of highly accomplished instructors and leaders of institutions

To be awarded Chartered Status you will need to complete a certain assessment units, showcasing your professional expertise in your particular area of specialization. Each area is carefully designed to promote purposeful research engagement, build on individual practice, priorities and interests, and drive meaningful improvement in your institution context.

A CHARTERED INSTRUCTOR

A Chartered Instructor is an Instructor who has received recognition for high-quality teaching, evidence-informed practice and school leadership.

Chartered Status holders are pioneers whose insights and expertise are invaluable to the profession.

WHY BECOMING CHARTERED

In becoming chartered as Christian instructors, you will be recognized for evidence-informed, high-quality teaching and leadership practice, benefiting your school or Institution and the Students and people you work with.

You can work towards Chartered Status at a pace that best suits you; our self-paced pathway is designed to ensure you have autonomy over your own professional learning and career progression.

Each Chartered Instructor assessment area has been purposefully developed to enable you to showcase your expertise in a meaningful way, aligned with your own needs, role, career stage and institution context.

Undertaking the assessment area will help you to: with educational research

• Deepen and demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of evidence-informed policy and practice, assessment, curriculum and pedagogy

• Develop and apply your understanding of how to engage critically

• Understand how teachers develop their practice and what effective professional learning looks like

• Undertake an inquiry project in an area of your choice, to gain deeper insights into your teaching or leadership practices, with the ultimate aim to improve outcomes for the Students you work with

• Evaluate the impact of your practice and reflect on your professional learning at key points.

Upon completion of your assessment area and following successful application, you will be conferred with Chartered Instructor Status or Chartered Instructor (Leadership) Status, depending on your role and which specific assessments you have completed.

As one of our celebrated Chartered Instructors, you will be entitled to use the post nominal’s ‘Chartered’

PATHWAY TO CHARTERED STATUS

There are four pathways to Chartered Status.

Once you have registered for your membership, you will have up to One year to complete the four assessment units to be able to become a chartered member.

1. Chartered Instructors Status – for practicing Instructors and leaders

2. Be recognized for your teaching expertise

3. Use research and evidence to refine and hone your practice

4. Explore specific challenges relevant to your lecture rooms and context.

AREAS OF SPECIFIC TEACHING SPECIALIZATION

Every prospective member must be specialised in any of the following fields and shall be examined accordingly in order to be qualified for the Chartered Status
